Blood Donation Camp

A Blood Donation Camp was conducted on 28.02.2024 in association with the Lions Club, Kavoor and KMC Hospital, Attavar, Mangalore. The Chief Guest for the programme was Dr. Deepa Adiga, Director- Blood Bank, KMC Hospital, Attavar. She spoke about the necessity of donating blood from a medical standpoint of view. Lion N.J. Nagesh, District Governor, spoke on the occasion - this was the 255th blood donation camp organised by him. He motivated the students to donate blood. Lion Satheesh S. Shetty, President and Secretary of Lions Club Kavoor as well as Lion Swaroopa Shetty were also present for the occasion. Dr. Meena J. Panikker, Principal - Sharada College, Talapady presided over the function and stated that students cannot be physically present at all locations of distress and accidents but by donating blood they can be assured that their blood will be utilised by those who are in dire medical emergency. Ms. Megha, a B.Com. student was the Master of Ceremony for the programme. Ms. Anusha and Ms. Accamma Vishmitha gave the Welcome Address and the Vote of Thanks respectively. A total of 53 units of blood of different blood groups were collected. All the participants were given certificates and free food. The event was conducted by the NSS and YRC units of Sharada College. The NSS programme officer, Mr. Chennaya B. and YRC Coordinator, Ms. Amita Alva were present.
